‘I’ll never let my son in this industry’: Malcolm’s interpreter refuses to let his son act

If you grew up in the early 2000s, you probably shared childhood or teenage memories with Malcolm and his family. By Frankie Muniz For 7 memorable seasons on this Editor’s Favorite series, this little genius, as boisterous as he is talented, has given us some great TV moments.

Now 38, his interpreter (who never hides his desire to have the whole family back for a TV reunion) took a break from filming for a few years to devote himself to his second passion: NASCAR racing.

“I will never allow my son to enter this industry.”

A recent interview Pedestrian televisionFrankie Muniz has spoken about his early years as an actor, saying he refused to see his young son (now 3) become a child star:

“I will never let my son enter this industry”He said, before clarifying that the decision has nothing to do with his own TV adventure.

“It’s not that I’ve had a negative experience, because to be honest, my experience has been completely positive. But I know a lot of people, close friends of mine, who have had terribly negative experiences. I think it’s a scary world in general.”

“Becoming a successful actor is like winning the lottery.”

Muniz then elaborated on his point, explaining that in the world of film and TV series many are called, but few are chosen, and that the “luck” factor was fundamental:

“I’ve never really paid much attention to rejection, but there’s a lot of rejection. To be honest, becoming a successful actor is like winning the lottery. At first, that’s all.”He explained that he was first cast on Malcolm because of his physical resemblance to his TV parents, and that many talented actors have jumped at the chance without breaking the bank.
