The Brazilian table tennis player faces the Chinese Liang Jingkun

Hugo Calderano is in the final of the WTT Champions Incheon, a tournament that brings together the best table tennis athletes in the world. The Brazilian table tennis player will face the Chinese Liang Jingkun, number three in the world ranking, in the final on Sunday (31), winning the title of the competition, played in South Korea.

The big decision will be made at 6 am (Brasilia time) and will be broadcast exclusively on the Star+ streaming platform.

Calderano beat the number two in the world ranking, the Chinese Fan Zhendong, in the semifinals. By 4 sets to 2, the Brazilian won with scores of 11/6, 11/8, 11/9, 6/11, 8/11 and 11/5. The Brazilian has never made it this far in a WTT competition with so many Top 20 athletes gathered, as the competition brings together the best table tennis players of the season.

The Brazilian was not in the best phase of his career and was eighth in the world rankings, but he has already scored 700 points with his season in Incheon and should move up the rankings at the end of the tournament. During the season, Calderano also surpassed Frenchman Felix Lebrun, a new table tennis star who was just 17 years old.
