Absolute success, Dune: part 2 Last weekend it crossed the $600 million mark, becoming the seventh highest-grossing feature film shot in IMAX. With the new bar, Denis Villeneuve’s sequel easily surpassed even the 2021 film, which had a total box office of just over $400 million.
In the universe of Dune, the galaxy is organized into planetary fiefdoms. Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), heir to the ruling family of the planet Arrakis, is about to become a sort of messiah for the galaxy. Check out the trailer here! The science fiction is based on the book of the same name (620 pages long) written by Frank Herbert.
Dune 2 brings back several names from the cast of the first film, such as Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. Among the new arrivals stand out Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux and Tim Blake Nelson.
