The Tale of Megapolis
For reference, Megalopolis tells the story of the destruction of a city the size of New York after an accident. After that, two different visions of the future emerge. On the one hand, there’s Cesar, an ambitious architect played by Adam Driver. On the other hand, his nemesis, Mayor Frank Cicero, played by Giancarlo Esposito.
Their debate revolves around how we can rebuild the city for the future: with renewable materials? Or through a corrupt business like the one that was set up before? At the center of this conflict is also Mary’s own daughter, Julia, a fearless young woman who has grown up in a world of power and is searching for meaning in her life.
Forest Whitaker, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Natalie Emmanuel, Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Voight, Michelle Pfeiffer and Cate Blanchett also star. No release date has been announced at this time. In addition, Francis Ford Coppola revealed that the projected version of Megalopolis was the final one. He is not going to retouch and has already turned to another, more intimate project.
