Jonathan Glazer donated posters to the ‘Cinema for Gaza’ auction; the money raised will be used to provide medical aid

Jonathan Glazerdirector of Zone of Interestdonated autographed posters to the auction Cinema for Gaza. Fundraising platform Givergy’s initiative has sourced items from several names in the UK entertainment industry to raise money, which will go towards Medical Aid for Palestinians. The philanthropic entity is responsible for offering medical aid in Gaza.

In total, Glazer and the producer James Wilson donated seven posters from the film, as well as a selection of posters from the feature film Under the Skin (2014). The materials are signed by the director, Wilson and the composer Mica Levi. At the moment the highest bid was £3,200.

Glazer divided opinions with the speech given upon receiving the Oscar for Best International Film, in which he mentioned the conflict between Israel and Palestine:

Our film shows where dehumanization leads, to its worst. It shaped our entire past and present. Right now, we stand here as men denying their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation that has led to conflict for so many innocent people. Whether it’s the victims of October 7th in Israel or the ongoing attack on Gaza, all the victims of this dehumanization — how do we resist?
