Lana Wachowski, who directed the most recent film in the series, The Matrix: Resurrections (2021)will participate as executive producer.
The film is still in the early stages of production. There is no confirmation as to which actors will return to reprise their roles, although the expectation is that at least Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who starred in all previous films such as Neo and Trinity, will be in the film.
The original cast also includes Laurence Fishburne, Hugo Weaving and Jada Pinkett Smith. The 2021 film added names like Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
