Beverly Hills Cop returns to Netflix: When is the fourth Eddie Murphy movie coming out?

Among the most iconic sagas of the 80s, the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy allowed Eddie Murphy to reach the status of a movie superstar. The police action film franchise features police lieutenant Axel Foley, originally from Detroit, on the trail of a drug-trafficking ring operating in Beverly Hills.

Custom role of Eddie Murphy

In a city bathed in sunshine, an eccentric policeman will do anything to stop the robbers. But his unorthodox methods and disregard for the rules soon incur the wrath of the local authorities…

For almost thirty years, fans of the saga have been waiting for the fourth part of the adventures of Axel Foley. But after several aborted attempts, the new Beverly Hills Cop opus is finally getting ready to go, not in theaters, but straight to Netflix.

Ahead of Axel Foley’s big return, the platform will allow its subscribers to (re)immerse themselves in the world of the franchise thanks to the arrival of the first three films on the streaming service today.

New faces join the original trio!

The three films perfectly complement each other in their approach (the darkness of the first, the action of the second and the humor of the third make a perfect cocktail), accompanied by an original soundtrack by Harold Faltermeyer.

The fourth adventure sees the trio of Axel Foley, Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) reunite, accompanied by a chosen recruit: Jane Foley, Axel’s daughter, played by Taylor Page. The hilarious Serge (Bronson Pinchot), the trio’s irresistible sidekick, is also back in this new movie!

The first three films of the iconic Beverly Hills Cop saga are now available on Netflix. The fourth part will be announced on July 3.
