That’s the spirit that the LEGO Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City™ Box (#76271) manages to capture. In this slideshow of city skylines, inspired by the series credits, the bricklayers took a “dark deco” approach to the most beautiful effect, using only a 15-color palette to show the various buildings, reddish skies, and floodlights. But respect aside, this new kit is a real treat to put together. The reconstruction work is meticulous, the attention to detail is fantastic, the rendering is excellent and each building can be removed to reveal hidden secrets related to the series (can you find the mini Batmobile?). What’s more, each of the forty-four bags is linked to a specific episode of the show.
