A few weeks ago, we learned about the renewal of the live-action series Avatar: The Last Airbender for two more seasons. But the immediate future of the program is uncertain due to the announcement of the sudden departure of the showrunner of the Netflix series!
Avoid the “strange object effect”
Screenwriter Albert Kim, who worked on the development and writing of the first season, actually decided to step down. The latter wants to devote himself to new projects, and therefore a replacement duo will do it: screenwriter Christine Boylan (The Punisher) and director, who specializes in visual effects, Jabbar Raisan, are the new co-showrunners of Avatar!
This change in team may lead to a delay in the production of the next two seasons of Avatar, although the shooting date has not yet been announced. At least Netflix’s priority seems to be moving quickly so that its main cast doesn’t grow too quickly between each season (known “Stranger Things Effect”).
The adaptation of the famous cartoon, Avatar: The Last Airbender follows the adventures of Aang, a new avatar who must strike a balance between the four elements: air, fire, water and earth. A prisoner of the Ice Age, he wakes up in a world where his people have been completely destroyed by the soldiers of the Land of Fire.
The first season of the live-action series Avatar: The Last Airbender is now available on Netflix.
