The first trailer for Joker: Delirium for Two gives more details about the story and features incredible scenes with the villain alongside his Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga
After much waiting, the first trailer of Joker: Delirium for two has finally arrived, giving a taste of what we’ll see in the long-awaited sequel to the starring film Joaquin Phoenix. And, as it couldn’t be otherwise, the crazy love experienced by the Joker with Harley Quinn Lady Gaga it is the main focal point of the first images.
As has been speculated for some time, the film directed once again by Todd Phillips will bring a much more musical feeling and using the dance scenes to play with the madness of the protagonist couple. So much so that, at different times, the trailer shows the same scene through the eyes of sanity and those of madness, in a very interesting construction.
Furthermore, we also get a brief idea about the story of the film. From what is suggested in the video of just over two minutes, Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) has remained hospitalized at Arkham Asylum since his rebellion in Gotham and it is there that he meets Harleen Quinzel (Gaga), another patient of the psychiatric prison.

Harley Quinn is the big standout
This is the first big change Joker: Delirium for two relates to the history of the comic. Originally, Harley Quinn is a psychiatrist at the institution who ends up falling in love with the patient and gets carried away by her madness, falling in love with the villain and accompanying him into her criminal life. In the film, however, this will be a little different.
From what is shown, Phoenix and Gaga’s characters will meet in the middle of the corridors of the sanatorium and fall in love. And it is in the midst of this crazy passion that music will come in, since she is part of the institute’s singing group, which uses music as a therapeutic measure. And, well, it’s clear that none of this helped the evil couple.
Another attention-grabbing point is how Harley Quinn already presents herself as someone who has a sort of devotion and admiration for the Joker, mostly because she thinks his life has always been empty. And it will be precisely from this that both she and the Clown will embody the characters of some classic musical in a journey of discovery, love and escape.

It is also interesting to note that, unlike more recent versions of the characters, as in Suicide squad and in the animation itself Harley Quinn, the relationship between the two characters will not have that toxic imprint that has been so marked in recent years. According to the trailer, the Joker is really interested in Harleen and, at a certain point, declares how much her presence has changed him, for better or for worse, depending on your point of view.
Unanswered questions
At the same time, the trailer of Joker: Delirium for two brings some scenes that need more context to understand, leaving some questions that only heighten anticipation for the premiere. An example of this is the scene of the couple’s supposed trial.

We had already seen glimpses of this moment in images leaked from the recordings, with a crowd gathered on a staircase with signs supporting and condemning the Joker. Everything suggests that it is Arthur Fleck’s trial, but this would not explain why Harley Quinn is there, nor why the two appear dancing later.
In fact, in this regard, we even have a replica of that little dance that became a meme in the first film. And, once again, it is impossible to define whether it is reality or just an illusion in the protagonists’ heads.

Another very confusing moment is when Fleck appears running through the middle of Gotham being chased by a Joker. Are you an admirer? A projection of your dark, criminal side? We will only know the answer in October 2024, when Joker: Delirium for two arrives in cinemas.
