Netflix: Yellowstone stars in Evil Dead creator’s next horror film

Good news for horror fans: According to variety, Netflix has acquired the rights to the gripping horror feature produced by none other than Sam Raimi! The filmmaker, to whom we owe the Evil Dead franchise, The Grudge, 30 Days of Night, To Hell, but also the Spider-Man trilogy, oversees one of the rare horror films to be released on the platform.

Do not move…

Titled Don’t Move, this feature film follows a seasoned serial killer who injects a paralyzed agent into a grieving woman while they are both isolated deep in the woods.

As the substance gradually takes control of her body, the young woman must run, hide and fight for her life until she can no longer save herself.

The two leads of this horror thriller are stars of the small screen. On the one hand, there’s Finn Wittrock, seen in The Big Short and La La Land and loyal to Ryan Murphy productions (American Horror Story and several seasons of Ratched).

On the other hand, we find Kelsey Asbill, who rose to fame in teen shows like The Scott Brothers and Teen Wolf, before shining in the series Fargo and becoming one of the stars of the hit series Yellowstone.

Don’t Move is written by TJ Cimfel (V/H/S Viral) and David White (Intruders) and directed by Brian Neto (Delivery) and Adam Schindler (50 States of Fright). The film was shot between June and July 2023 in Bulgaria and was able to be completed despite a double strike by actors and writers in agreement with SAG-AFTRA, with only two days of production remaining.

Thus, Netflix acquired the rights to broadcast “Don’t Move” internationally, except in Poland and member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States. No release date has been announced yet, but there is no doubt that the platform should be planning a release this year or next year.
