According to a Genial/Quaest poll published on Thursday 11th, in Sao Paulo 50% of those interviewed approve the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and in Minas Gerais 52%. In Paraná, 44% of respondents approve of the Lula government and in Goiás, the rate reaches 49%.
Disapproval of the Lula government was 48% in São Paulo, 47% in Minas Gerais, 54% in Paraná and 50% in Goiás. Don’t know or didn’t answer 2% (SP), 1% ( MG). , 2% (PR) and 1% (GO).
Genial/Quaest also measured the evaluation of the Lula government in each of the four states: positive, regular or negative. In Sao Paulo, 32% of those interviewed judge the Lula government to be positive, in Minas 34%. In Paraná 30% believe it is positive, while in Goiás the percentage is 32%.
The negative rating was as follows: 37% in São Paulo, 35% in Minas, 41% in Paraná and 40% in Goiás. The Lula government is considered regular by 29% in Sao Paulo, 30% in Minas, 27% in Paraná and 27% in Goiás.
2% do not know or did not answer in São Paulo, 1% in Minas, 2% in Paraná and 1% in Goiás.
Economy
As for the Brazilian economy, 42% of São Paulo residents believe it has gotten worse, 23% that it has improved, and 32% that it has remained the same. Among miners, 45% think that the national economy has worsened, 23% that it has improved and 28% that it has remained the same. Among the inhabitants of Goiás, 45% believe that the situation has worsened, 24% that it has improved and 28% that it has remained the same. Among Paranáians, 49% say that the country’s economy has worsened, 21% that it has improved and 27% that it has remained the same.
The poll was conducted between April 4 and 7 and was aimed at voters aged 16 and over. 1,656 voters were interviewed in São Paulo, 1,506 in Minas, 1,121 in Paraná and 1,127 in Goiás. The margins of error are 2.4 percentage points in São Paulo, 2.5 in Minas, 2.9 in Paraná and 2.9 in Goiás. The confidence level is 95%.
