Game of Thrones: Bad news for Jon Snow fans

We can’t say that it was the most anticipated project by fans, but there is no doubt that the series about Jon Snow would still arouse the public’s curiosity. But after long months of development, we learned that the series will not finally see the light of day.

At the head of the project, Kit Harington himself confirmed the information to our colleagues ScreenRant.

The English actor revealed that this spin-off was no longer on the agenda. The latter does not rule out that the idea will be voiced again in the future, although at the moment the project does not appear in the priorities of the HBO channel.

The project is no longer under development

During an interview, Kit Harington revealed that the inability to find an interesting enough story to tell led to the decision to cancel the project. We’re also guessing that it’s hard to imagine a sequel that isn’t based on one of George RR Martin’s writings, especially since the endings to the books (which are different from the series) haven’t been released yet.

“I didn’t really talk about it because it was under development. Jon Snow’s interpreter said in particular. “I didn’t want to leak the details of its development, and I didn’t want people to start theorizing, getting excited, or hating on the idea when it wasn’t even sure it would see the light of day.” .”

Three spin-offs have already been ordered

This announcement does not mean that there will not be another spin-off from the Game of Thrones universe, quite the contrary.

While three series have already been ordered (House of the Dragon Season 2, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, 9 Voyages), other projects are still in development, including a prequel focusing on the story of King Aegon I . Targaryen.

All series of Game of Thrones will join the catalog of the Max platform, expected in France next summer!
