After Dentil Praia Clube confirmed their lead in the first leg and beat Sesc Flamengo away in the Superliga semi-final, on Friday evening it was the turn of Gerdau Minas and Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde to face each other for a place in the final (12) . While the Minastenistas only need a victory, the Osasquenses could not lose to have the chance to decide next Monday at the José Liberatti gym (15).

Needing to win, Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde started the first two sets playing forward. Aggressive in serving, the São Paulo team managed to open a four-point lead in both, however, Nicola Negro managed to remobilize the Minastenista team on the court with specific timeouts and the demobilized visiting team on the court.

With the block in place and good distribution from Jenna Gray, Gerdau Minas had the patience to get the score and won the first two sets by 25/23 and 25/18. Osasco São Cristóvão tried to react in the match and looked for the third half for 25/15. The team led by Luizomar de Moura controlled the number of errors and was more aggressive than their rival, however, in the fourth set Itambé Minas managed to be patient and cooked his opponent in the game. The partial lasted more than 45 minutes, with the two teams exchanging set points. Finally, Kisy, the match’s top scorer with 23 hits, was used by Jenna Gray for most of the time in the final part of the set, tiring the Osaskan team. Thus, Itambé Minas scored 37-35 in the fourth set and closed the match 3-1.

In contrast to the qualifying phase, in which Sesc Flamengo and Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde finished top, the duo Dentil Praia Clube and Gerdau Minas will reach the final of the Women’s Superliga for the sixth time in a row. Dentil Praia Clube are looking to draw level with Gerdau Minas with their third title in the domestic competition at a time when their rivals are leading the decider.
