Netflix has revealed a huge hint about Vecna that we all missed in Season 4 of Stranger Things. This detail – not so hidden – should have jumped out at us several times in the rainbow room, but it seems that no one paid attention. As we head into the release of Volume 2, Netflix has been dropping a lot of hints and theories, and this one really blew people away.
Netflix has indicated the obvious: a key scene between what we know as Peter Ballard (Jamie Campbell Bower), the “beautiful” nurse, and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). There is a huge hint in this scene for the big reveal at the end of the first volume. Remember, in Episode 7, the duo is in the Rainbow Room of Hawkins’ lab. But did you notice the rainbow behind Peter? It’s upside down!
The Netflix UK and Ireland Twitter account posted photos of Peter and Eleven face to face with the caption: “When you see that there was a rainbow up behind him…“This is a major clue to Peter’s true identity, which we later learn is Henry Creel, who later became Vecna!
But does this mean that Peter already belonged to the upright? Maybe we’ll get an answer later. Now we know that Volume 2 will be very dark. The creators of Stranger Things have already warned us: we can think about the fate of the main characters, hinting that there will be a significant death in one of the two upcoming episodes.
Ross Duffer, co-creator of the series with his brother Matt, said last week variety : “I don’t want to say too much, but I’m interested in the heroes of volume 2, of course. It’s a darker season and kids aren’t kids anymore. And there’s an eerie feeling that things might not go well.“
