Botafogo announces the arrival of Ygor Coelho, badminton champion


The Brazilian athlete reaches his third participation in the Olympics




The Botafogo delegation for the Paris Olympics received yet another reinforcement. Ygor Coelho, athlete of the Brazilian badminton team, is now also part of the Glorioso. He was presented this Tuesday (16th), to General Severiano, to President Durcesio Mello and was enthusiastic about the success.

– I am very honored and happy to be part of this glorious team. I think I’m opening the doors to badminton. Playing for Botafogo is an honor, a club that is part of the history of our country. My family was very excited by the news of the agreement. I am proud to be able to go to the Olympics representing Botafogo – says the new Juventus athlete.

Ygor, 27, is the eighth athlete from Botafogo to qualify for the Paris Olympics. He joins Lucas Verthein, Bia Tavares and Javier Insfran (Paraguay), from rowing, Ana Sátila, from canoe slalom, and Netinho, Henrique Marques and Milena Titoneli, from taekwondo.

Ygor Coelho will participate in his third Olympics. He was also in Tokyo, Japan, and at the Rio edition in 2016.
