Love by the Wall on Netflix: Is this romantic comedy worth 1:30 of your life?

What is it about?

Valentina, a young pianist, controls her life. David, her inventive neighbor, needs silence to concentrate. Will love be able to break through the common wall that separates them?

What we need to know

It’s not easy to sift through Netflix’s catalog of new features and additions, but the Top 10 is a good tool for understanding what subscribers watch the most. This week it’s the Spanish romantic comedy Love at the Wall, which is among the top performers.

It is a remake of the 2015 French film Un peu, shot, directed and directed by Clovis Cornillac, in which actress Melanie falls under Bernier’s spell. With its 500,000 theatrical release and quite good revenue, this romantic comedy was particularly popular for its distribution, but also for the originality of the script. It is enough in any case to offer other studios around the world.

Clovis Cornillac’s film will have two remakes: the Korean version of My Worst Neighbor, which was released last year, and the Spanish remake, which we will tell you about today.

What did the subscribers think?

Some AlloCiné viewers have already given Love at the Wall a chance. With an average rating of 2.2 out of 5 for only 26 ratings, the film is far from convincing them:

“Not bad, but the original version, a little blind, is much better, with its wooden Allen air, Kornilak and Bernier are incredible.(Patrick Van Trust)

“Copy and paste A LITTLE MUCH blindly, much less well. The acting is really weak. “ (Morgan Le Hare)

“Netflix just hit a wall… with wanting to remake the French movie A Little Too Blind, which is a dump and doesn’t really look like this movie. 2 minutes of acting that touches on the depth of the abyss and jokes that aren’t there. (Marwan El Nissir)

“Nice little Spanish romcom. I really liked the concept. The couple has a lot of charm and the soundtrack is quite good. A nonsensical film that is easy to watch, but quickly forgotten.” (lia)

Why might you like it?

A charming little romantic comedy, Love Against the Wall features two up-and-coming actors who share an undeniable chemistry even without sharing the screen: Aytana and Fernando Gualari manage to create that little spark we look for in this genre production. If you’re a fan of romcoms, then you’re not risking anything by starting the movie, which lasts only 1 hour and 30 minutes.

You may be comforted by the few notes of Beethoven we hear in the film, or the voice of its main character, a Spanish music star, which is a wonderful discovery. And a pleasant surprise for Love Against the Wall is the casting of former Un dos tres actor Miguel Angel Muñoz!
