Almost five years after setting fire to his wife, Clodoaldo Caetano da Silva was arrested this Wednesday (17), in Campo Largo, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. The victim, Sirlene do Rocio, 37, died in December 2019, almost four months after the collision.
According to the Civil Police, Clodoaldo was sentenced to 24 years in prison for the crime of femicide.
“In the case under analysis, it was ascertained that the individual had been a fugitive since his conviction. Today he returns to prison, remaining at the disposal of justice”, said the delegate Mariana Cantu.
After the crime, Sirlene was left with 45% of her body burned. She was hospitalized from August to December 2019, but she did not survive. At the time, she had managed to tell the city’s municipal guards that her husband was the perpetrator of the crime.
