Ahmed Silla and director Ludovic Bernard make a duo that works. In 2017, their first joint project, L’Ascension, was a success at the Alpe d’Huez Festival – winning the Grand Prix and the Public Prize – and attracting more than a million theatergoers. Seven years later, they still meet here and there.
On screen, actor Ahmed Silla teams up with Hakim Jamili for this comedy about identity that ditches clichés and indulges in a few laughs at simple jokes.
The story follows Adrien (Hakim Cemil), who settled in Senegal and returned to France due to a visa problem. He enlists the help of his wife’s distant cousin Sekou (Ahmed Silla), a salesman in Paris.
The latter is responsible for finding new customers in the regions. When she takes Adrienne with her, their journey through the French cities will bring back their preconceived ideas about themselves, as well as those around them.
“I try to make my films, in most cases, convey beautiful valuesExplained Ahmed Silla to AlloCiné during the Alpe d’Huez festival, where Ici et là-bas was presented. I like it when comedies tell a story. I don’t think I’m an actor serving big laughs, and we don’t reveal to anyone, we don’t judge anyone, I like that.“

“If I agreed to make this film, it’s because I admitted myself 100%“, – says Hakim Cemil. The actor admits that he has already confronted the lines in Ici et y-bas more than once.
“These are the situations in which I was humiliated and humiliated. This movie can be helpful for people who have been in my position, where I was lost for three years in my life and all these issues of identity.“
Here and there two characters are revealed who betrayed their origin to suit their environment. During the journey, the duo come to terms with their history.
