Is Miss Holmes in a relationship with Sammy? According to Tom Villa, it won’t be so obvious

TF1 tonight airs the continuation of the Mademoiselle Holmes investigation, played by the sparkling Lola Dewey (who explained to us what makes this HPI fantasy so different). Here, the Astrid and Raphael star talks to comedian Tom Villa. With AlloCiné, the latter returns to this particular new project…

AlloCiné: Can we say that Sam, your character in “Mademoiselle Holmes,” is somehow the new Watson?

Tom Villa: My character isn’t from the Watson family, and he’s a forensic doctor, but he makes a pair with Charlie that could be like a Holmes/Watson duo. In addition, Sam is a big fan of Sherlock Holmes, he even knows the story of Holmes better than his grandson!

At first he is really very detached from himself. Sam digs into this character a bit and discovers that he has many aspects (…) He obviously felt that he had a lot of potential, given that he is, among other things, part of the Holmes family.

(…) The screenwriters took the basics that we all know about this hero of British literature. The Moriartys, the family of Sherlock Holmes’ sworn enemy, also appear in our story, as even after decades, there is still antagonism between the Holmeses and this clan…

There’s some confusion between Charlie and Sam, isn’t it?

yes…

Can they become a couple?

Maybe… but you’ll see it from the start, it won’t be so obvious! I’ll leave the scoop to those watching. Maybe it will happen, maybe not because maybe Sammy doesn’t want it… I don’t know! (laughs)

How did you work with your on-screen chemistry? Lola Dewey ?

We read, we saw each other, we saw each other again (…) but he said to me: ‘You will see on the set, we will definitely find ‘. And he was right, because when you’re in a beautiful setting, in costumes and on location, suddenly things happen that you wouldn’t find in reading (…) There’s a lot to discover here. time.

Wouldn’t getting involved in “Miss Holmes” and possibly playing the same character for several seasons put a stop to it?

I already experienced this in Munch, where we did four seasons. So I know what it is and it’s great! On the contrary, it is good to be able to develop the character in the long run, to develop him. The main thing is that it’s good… There is always the same problem in every series!

We know you mostly at the Comic Book Registry. Was this slightly more dramatic project a challenge for you?

Challenge…I’m not going to jump out of the space shuttle! (Laughs) But I’m playing a new profession here, and it’s a playing profession that I’ll never apply. I did a lot of research (…) We have to be medically aware because I know people are always ahead! So I called two or three friends at the police station to see how things were going.

You shot some scenes in London. How did this little trip along the canal go?

It was great! With that, we started shooting, which brought the team together well. I think it makes the series richer, because it seems to me that there are few French fictions that have the chance to have moments abroad. We saw Big Ben, rode a bus like tourists, etc… It was really cool.

Want to be the star of your own soap opera in the future?

Why not ? Frankly, I’m taking my time at this point. In my opinion, we should not try to skip steps to avoid burning out (…) we are starting this series, it is still a big part! So, solo projects in the scene, yes. In entertainment, yes, why not. But not in fiction today.
