An elderly man, aged 62, was rescued in serious condition after the car he was traveling in crashed into the back of a truck, this Saturday morning (20th), on a stretch of the BR-116, in Campina Grande do Sul, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the accident, which occurred at km 142 of the motorway, closed the lane towards San Paolo. In addition to the elderly man – who was a passenger in the car -, two other people suffered minor injuries.

“When the team arrived on site, they found that the victim was in a very serious condition and the support of the medical air rescue of the Federal Highway Police was necessary to speed up the rescue and preserve the life of this person,” the company informed.
The man was transported by helicopter to the Angelina Caron hospital. The victims who suffered minor injuries were also inside the car.
