A girlfriend for Han Solo
As recently recalled Article from the SlashFilm siteIn an earlier version of the sequence (see above), the smuggler was kissing a young woman (presumably his girlfriend) as Luke and Obi-Wan sat down at his table.
For reasons unknown to us, this version was kicked out, even if British actress Jenny Cresswell, who played Han Solo’s companion, can still be seen among the other patrons of the canteen talking to Rodian.
Of course, as all viewers of the original trilogy know, Han didn’t stay “solo” for long, as from The Empire Strikes Back an unforgettable romance began between him and Princess Leia, the twin sister of Luke Skywalker, whom he was instrumental in freeing. The Death Star in Part 2 of A New Hope.
