From 6 years

As every summer for many years, the ants who live harmoniously in the middle of a small island, under the leadership of the queen and her daughter Princess Atta, prepare for the same ceremony. Having gathered most of the crop on a large green leaf, they take shelter in their galleries while they await the passage of One-Eye and his band of grasshoppers.

“They come, they eat, they go”, they repeat to themselves to reassure themselves, because if they didn’t follow the random annual ration, the locusts would undoubtedly take strong action. But this year, things don’t go as planned, as Tilt, a daring and clumsy colony worker, accidentally drops all of the crop’s seeds into the river.

  • TONIGHT WITH THE FAMILY: 28 years ago, Toy Story changed movie history forever

Pixar’s second feature film

After shaking up the world of animation with the release of Toy Story – the first feature film in the history of cinema to be produced exclusively on computer images – the very young Pixar studios are proving that now they have to be reckoned with.

In order to honor the Disney contract, they decide to close the toy box for a while and transform their essays by exploring the world of insects.

Funny, intelligent, and very well animated for its time (we’re still in the late 90s), 1001 Paws turns out to be a very loose adaptation of Akira Kurosawa’s great classic Seven Samurai.

A converted essay

This prestigious citation confirms to anyone who still doubted that Pixar’s craftsmen are the most movie lovers. With a lighted desk lamp serving as their mascot, they make their second feature film a high-quality entertainer, served by the most effective script, colorful characters and one of the most evil villains in their filmography.

Sadly, a bit overshadowed by the success of many of its predecessors, 1001 Pattes is a show that should not be missed by any means and should be (re)discovered with the family without hesitation if you’re looking for a movie to watch tonight.

What will you like…

  • The main character, Tilt, is extremely attractive, especially since his French voice is that of Thierry Vermouth (who also voiced Tintin in his animated adventures and Stan in South Park).
  • A troupe of circus insects that Tilt hires to get rid of the one-eyed man. They are seven samurai (or mercenaries)!

What could be bothering them…

  • Hence, the one-eyed man, a very charismatic antagonist with impressive tantrums, but also a terrifying zombie-like locust who takes his place as a dog.
