The Chicago Red Stars win away from home in the NWSL

On Sunday evening (21), the Chicago Red Stars visited Seattle Reign in the United States women’s soccer league, NWSL, in the fifth round of the competition. Brazilian Júlia Bianchi, formerly of Palmeiras, was on the pitch to defend Chicago and helped the team win 2-1.

The guests started at their best and dominated the first half. Creating more opportunities in attack, the team shot 5 times into the opponent’s goal and opened the scoring after just 4 minutes and extended the lead in the 31st. Additionally, the home team failed to have a shot on the Chicago Red Stars’ goal once in the first half. So, they needed to come back stronger after the break. In the return leg the team even changed their attitude but only scored the goal in the 34th minute of the second half and were unable to equalise.

Brazilian Júlia Bianchi was a starter during the 90 minutes of the match and helped her team win away from home. Therefore, the midfielder and former Palmeiras player had four interceptions, one cut and 1 tackle. At the end of the match, Júlia was again booked with a yellow card.
