Dakota Johnson suffered when she recorded “50 shades of gray”: she said why she will no longer do these films

The “50 Shades of Grey” trilogy is based on the romance novels of EL James, who curiously started writing the hot story of Anastasia Steele and Christian Gray on Wattpad, as a “Twilight” fan.

The films were successful at the box office, grossing more than $1.323 million between the three. However, for film critics, including Dakota Johnson, the story with these films is less positive.

Critics panned the “50 Shades of Grey” trilogy. For example, on Rotten Tomatoes all movies are considered “rotten”: the first is the best with a percentage of 25%, while the last two have 11%.

In the case of Dakota Johnson, the experience of filming “50 Shades of Grey” was “chaos” and something that, in retrospect, she would not agree to do. We tell you why.

Dakota Johnson faced a lot of controversy in “50 Shades of Grey”

During the ’50 Shades of Grey’ press tour, Dakota Johnson never got completely candid about the film. However, seven years after the premiere of the first film, the actress was honest about what she suffered on the set, in an interview with “Vanity Fair”.

“There were many disagreements. I could never talk about it honestly because I wanted to promote the film in the right way.”

The actress explained that at first she was very interested in doing this film: her lifestyle was something that prompted her to fully immerse herself in the love plot of “50 Shades of Grey”.

“I’m a sexual person and when I’m interested in something, I want to know a lot about it, so I made these wonderful nude films.”

However, once filming began on the first tape, he realized that the film he thought he was going to make would never see the light of day.

“I signed on to do a very different version of the movie that we ended up making.”

The 32-year-old actress explained that most of the controversy was due to EL James, the author of the books.

“[James] I had a lot of creative control, all day, every day, and I just demanded that certain things happen.”

The author wanted to include parts of her novels that, according to Johnson, did not work in film form. One of those aspects was Anastasia Steele’s internal monologue, which Dakota felt “was incredibly cheesous at times” and was inappropriate to say out loud.

“It was always a battle.”

James’s demands ultimately made filming much more tedious, as the actors recorded scenes to the writer’s liking and then reshot those shots based on what they thought worked best cinematically.

“It was like chaos the whole time.”

This experience had an impact on Dakota, who asserted that if she had known what it would take to make these films, she would never have made them.

“If I had known at the time it was going to be like this, I don’t think anyone would have done it. I would have been like, ‘Oh, that’s psychotic.’

The actress revealed that more things happened that she “can’t say yet.” He prefers to keep these memories to himself because he doesn’t want to affect others. However, she warned that despite everything, she and Jamie Dornan, who played millionaire Christian Grey, were always treated well.

“I don’t want to damage anyone’s career and I don’t want to damage anyone’s reputation, but both Jamie and I have been treated very well.”

Dakota concluded that EL James is really a nice woman and has always been nice to her.

“I’m grateful that he wanted me to be in these movies.”
