While the trailer for “Deadpool and Wolverine” has been trending for the past few days, there’s one more great news: the movie’s preview confirms the inclusion of several iconic X-Men characters we’ve seen before. Find out what it is.
The mutants who will appear in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’
Lady Deathstrike
This character debuted in “X-Men 2” as an ally of General William Stryker, who seeks to eradicate the mutant race and was responsible for covering Logan’s body with adamantium.
She is dedicated to fighting superheroes and is known as the female counterpart of Wolverine, since she has claws very similar to those of Professor Cassandra Nova, and the IMDb portal confirmed that she will be played again by the actress Kelly Hu, who became the villain of Marvel 21. years ago.
Pyro
As in the previous case, Pyro, the mutant who can manipulate flames and give them the desired shape, as well as increase or decrease their intensity, was introduced in “X-Men 2” as a villain who joins Magneto. In the Deadpool trailer, surprisingly, he can be seen for a few seconds wearing what appears to be a post-apocalyptic suit.
Thanks to his background, he is rumored to support Cassandra Nova in eliminating the protagonists as well, which would mean a lot of trouble for them as they would be facing prominent mutants.
Actor Aaron Stanford played this mutant in the second and third installments of the live-action X-Men films when he was between 25 and 30 years old. Now, he will don his suit again at the age of 47.
Azazel
The 2011 film ‘X-Men: First Class’ introduced mutants that had never been seen on film before and Azazel was one of them.
He was a member of Sebastian Shaw’s Hellfire Club, along with Emma Frost and Riptide, intent on unleashing World War III. Azazel has the ability to teleport anywhere at will.
Although in the plot of the films it was implied that he had died in an unknown way, “Deadpool and Wolverine” represents a new opportunity for Azazel to show the maximum capacity of his powers.
toad
In 2000, Toad was introduced in the film ‘X-Men’ as a staunch follower of Magneto. Although he has only made a few small appearances so far and ended up dead at the hands of Storm, he is expected to be more relevant.
One piece of news that pleased fans is that Toad will be played by actor Ray Park, who landed the role 20 years ago. As a curious fact, he is credited for playing Darth Maul in ‘Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace’.
Colossus
Colossus’ presence in the Deadpool movies is never lacking, and this third installment will be no exception. The mutant was responsible for stopping Wade’s murders in the first film and tried to integrate the sarcastic superhero into the X-Men without success.
Without a doubt, he has become an extremely powerful ally of Deadpool and someone who, although at first he saw him as a certain enemy to get in the way of his plans, now considers him a great friend.
Sabretooth
One of the evil mutants that appeared in the movie “X-Men” was Sabretooth, who tried to kidnap Rogue under the orders of Magneto, but was confronted by Logan, who managed to prevent it.
Unlike the previous cases reported, Sabretooth’s appearance is not one hundred percent confirmed. Although there was a rumor that Tyler Mane, the actor who played him, appeared in the recordings of “Deadpool and Wolverine”, his name does not appear in the IMDb file of the next film.
