Players will be able to enjoy the classic version of the map in May
Summary
Krafton has announced the return of the original Erangel map to PUBG: Battlegrounds for a limited time, on PC and consoles on May 14th and 23rd, respectively.
Krafton has decided to imitate Fortnite and intends to bring the original Erangel map back to PUBG: Battlegrounds for a limited time, giving players the chance to revisit the iconic location.
Called Erangel Classic, it will replace the current Erangel map in regular play on both PC and console.
On PC, the new feature arrives on May 14th and will be available until May 28th. On consoles, players will be able to enjoy the classic map between May 23rd and June 6th. The map will be active as soon as server maintenance is completed.
Erangel Classic aims to give players a bit of nostalgia by bringing cloudy and rainy battlefield weather conditions back to the game. The weapon tables on the starting island will also return, as will the Tommy Gun in the aid package.
Other new features include a reduction in weapon recoil when firing, similar to that of the PUBG launch, as well as changes to the interface to remain the same as in the past. Defeating opponents will also take longer, which will also contribute to the nostalgia factor.
The full list of everything coming to Erangel Classic will be made available with the official update notes for it on May 13th. Further details can be found in official site from PUBG: Battlegrounds.
