The anime “Haikyuu!!” is based on the manga of the same name and was written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. The story follows the adventures of young Shoyo Hinata: a boy who falls in love with volleyball during elementary school and wants to become the best player.

After losing an important match against his avowed rival, he discovers that he will have to join forces with the enemy when he joins a new team during high school. Shoyo Hinata is a short boy. This was never a problem, but after watching a volleyball game on television and being inspired to play the sport, some people disparaged him for his size. Despite this, he decides to form a team during his last year of elementary school to win a match, but ends up being defeated by the rival team, led by Tobio Kageyama.

After the defeat, Hinata sees Kageyama as his true rival and promises himself that he will improve his sports skills to defeat his team. With that said, he enrolls in high school and joins the new school’s volleyball team. Coincidentally, the team has Kageyama, which will force him to put aside his differences and join forces with the enemy to win future matches.

Shoyo Hinata

A very lively boy who many would consider too short to compete in volleyball, but who makes up for his height with admirable performances and above-average jumps. Hinata plays on the wing and usually acts as a central defender on the pitch.

Ryunosuke Tanaka

Tanaka is very attentive to freshmen, but when it comes to volleyball, his personality reaches a very volatile and loud potential, which not only annoys his teammates, but leads to him being scolded daily by the team captain. He plays on the wing.

Daichi Sawamura

He is the captain of the team, has very sensible reasoning and very sharp leadership. Although he scolds his teammates when necessary, he still offers a peaceful and understanding behavior during training and matches, which helps balance the team. He plays in the opposite position, but can also play in attack.
