Fans invaded the pitch after confusion between rival players
The duel between palms AND Corinthians in the final of the Under 18 Metropolitan Championship of futsal was interrupted by a widespread fight between the players. The confusion, which began as a disagreement between two rival athletes, spread to others. Then the pitch was invaded by fans.
The conflict began when Palmeiras was winning 5-2 and there were only 30 seconds left until the final whistle. The match ended in confusion and the Alviverde team were crowned champions at the Ginásio Presidente Ciro II, in Penha, east of São Paulo.
Pictures (look down), which shows some players climbing into the stands to escape the clash. Furthermore, some of the fans took refuge in the area designated for the television team. There is no apparent police presence on site.
Contacted by the report, the Futsal Federation of Sao Paulo (FPFS) said it would only comment through an official statement.
