Jeff Bridges said Commentary on the film :”I am going to shoot the third part of Tron. I am very enthusiastic. It’s crazy. Jared Leto is a hero and I can’t wait to work with him. I admire his work.

Directed by Joachim Ronning, who has already worked on Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge and Malicious: Forces of Evil, the feature film also stars Gillian Anderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan and Sarah Desjardins.

In ColliderActor Cameron Monaghan noted that the film would have to push the limits in terms of special effects. “I think this film will go further visually.

First photo with a significant change

a little while ago, Jared Leto, shared the first photo from the feature film. The actor appears from behind, dressed in the black and red jumpsuit of his character Ares, a fictional character who transitions from the world of video games to the real world. On the side of the suit we see a stick-shaped weapon, which is different from the glowing discs on the characters’ suits from the previous feature films.

Another noteworthy fact: the red color of the suit. In the Tron universe, the characters who wear this suit are usually on the side of the antagonist, not the blue-suited characters in the first two films. A color that proves Ares is malware entering the real world. At least at first, because Disney is unlikely to make its hero a villain.

In Tron: AresA highly sophisticated program called Ares is sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission that marks humanity’s first encounter with beings endowed with artificial intelligence… In the previous installments, humans ended up in the web, but here it’s the other way around, the AI born in the web will end up in our world.

Not a continuation of the previous parts

Please note that this feature film will not be a sequel to 1982’s Tron and 2011’s Tron: Legacy.

The first Tron movie starred Jeff Bridges as video game developer Kevin Flynn. The latter found himself spoiled in his game, forced to participate in gladiatorial games, from which he could only escape with the help of a heroic security program. Although the feature film was not a commercial success (it grossed $50 million in theaters on a $17 million budget), it acquired cult status thanks to its release on VHS.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun 2), the sequel is titled Tron Legacy He was released after 29 years. Jeff Bridges reprises his role with Garrett Hedlund playing his son, Sam Flynn. Trying to solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance, the latter finds himself in the same world of terrible programs and deadly games where his father lived for 25 years. With a budget of $170 million, the film grossed only $400 million internationally, and Disney chose not to continue the narrative arc of the characters from previous operations.
