How is it possible for such figures to have their own comics? Imagine that the firm decided, in the late 70s – early 80s, that it would probably be a good idea for these world-famous public figures, and above all very real, to have their own comics. Then the idea was to tell the lives of these people.
Published by Marvel in May 1978 The Beatles story. David Anthony Craft, who will work specifically on the superheroes Defenders, took on writing the story of the creation of the legendary musical group. In June 1978, a new issue of The Beatles comic based on the musical film Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
FYI, the film was sold by Universal Studios as “70s Gone with the Wind”. There is no laughing. Published in October 1982, the comic book dedicated to Pope John Paul II chronicled his life from his childhood in Poland, through the war years (with plaques of Adolf Hitler!), to his assassination attempt on May 13, 1981. When Mehmed Ali Agca, a member of the Turkish nationalist Gray Wolves organization, tried to kill him in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.

Mother Teresa then? A naturalized Indian Albanian Catholic nun, a missionary in India, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, so she received her comic book, which was published in January 1985. Apparently, a publication in One Shot, the story of which was written by David Michelinie, launched his career. In Marvel Comics (after moving to DC) with the first Iron Man script. He was the creator of the character Jim Rhodes, nicknamed War Machine.
