The fifth edition of the Curitiba Volksfest will take place this weekend, Saturday (4) and Sunday (5), and will bring together a large exhibition of classic cars, with an exclusive section for national projects. This year, the festival to be held at the Bosque São Cristóvão, in Curitiba, will present several new features for fans of air-cooled Volkswagen vehicles.
During the event the Volks Chronology exhibition will be set up: visitors will be able to retrace the history of the Beetle through information panels. The project is managed by Opas Garage, a research site on the customization school and Volks Air accessories.
Another novelty is the partnership between Volksfest and Volkswagen do Brasil, which will allow fans of Volkswagen culture to consult the company’s national database and request the certificate of originality for their cars. According to one of the organizers of the event, Renan de Morais, “this action aims to authenticate the original vehicles and bring collectors closer to our festival”. The traditional fair of bodywork, specific spare parts and accessories for the entire air cooling line continues.
Food and music festival
The official beer of the event, Volksfest Maibock, will be launched on Saturday. Made in the German style of the same name, the Lager family beer is associated with European spring and is traditionally brewed exclusively in May.
Also present at the event was the gastronomic square with savory proposals; such as ribs, kebabs, parrilla, burgers, pastries and pizza; and desserts, such as açaí, churros, ice cream, etc. Additionally, traditional beers such as pilsners, IPAs and red ales will be offered at Volksfest, as well as Way craft beer with 6 limited edition taps.
Visitors will also be able to attend the shows that will take place on both days. The groups TN She, Mr. Gomes, Rota 66 and Legião Urbana Cover with Sérgio Ramos will play on Saturday. On Sunday the groups D’Folks, Club Soda, Milk N Blues and Charlie Brown Cover Rock Vibration (Nando Costa) will be present. DJing on both days will be done by Kombination.
