Directed by John Musker and Ron Clements – the fathers of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin – the Disney film takes us to the Pacific Ocean alongside the cheeky and brave Moana. Last February, Disney Studios created a surprise and announced a sequel to the animated film. In fact, it’s an evolution of the Disney+ series project that has finally been turned into a feature film for cinema.
What will Moana 2 be about?

Who will be in the voice casting?
Actress Auli’i Cravalho – who already voiced the heroine in 2016 – returns to work as well as Dwayne Johnson, who voices the demigod Maui. The latter recently shared photos of the animated film’s dub, accompanied by the following message: “Bring Maui to life for Waianae 2! I had a lot of fun being Maui again – a character that changed a lot of my life – not least because the character was inspired by my late grandfather, Grandfather Peter Maivy.

From the French side, no official announcement has been made yet, but it is highly likely that Cerise Calixte and Anthony Kavanagh will once again be heard in Waianae and Maui.
A live remake has been announced
Auli Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson will also star in the live-action adaptation of the 2016 animated film, which The Rock himself announced will be in April 2023, a remake of Moana, the legend of the end of the world in real life. Views are dated July 8, 2026 in our theaters.

It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2016.blue light“(“How far will I go?” in VO) is written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote several tracks for the original soundtrack. However, the latter will not be returning for the sequel.
