As of Sunday the 5th, the “SOS Rio Grande do Sul” account had already collected more than R$ 38 million in donations intended for flood victims in the state. According to the latest update of the bulletin released by the Civil Protection, at 6pm there were 78 dead and 105 missing. Overall, around 844,000 people were affected by the heavy rains.
Through the Decree no. 57,601, the government of RS has established a management committee of the “SOS Rio Grande do Sul” account, which is the official donation channel of the State. The group is made up of public and private entities, who will define actions, measures and distribution criteria for donations collected through the channel’s Pix key.
“The bill, linked to Banrisul, is the same one used last year, when rains caused significant damage in the state during the month of September, especially in the towns of Vale do Taquari,” the government informs in a statement.
