In theaters May 8, Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom takes us back to the ape world invented by Frenchman Pierre Bouleh in 1963. Wes Ball’s feature film is a direct continuation of the trilogy initiated by Rupert Wyatt in 2011. . The story takes place a few generations after Caesar’s reign.
The monkeys definitely took over. Humans, on the other hand, are in a wild state and live in solitude. As a new tyrannical leader gradually builds his empire, a young ape embarks on a perilous journey that will lead him to question everything he knows about the past and make choices that will shape the future of apes and humans alike.

For her part, Perri Nemiroff of Collider is also enthusiastic. After Origins, Showdown and Supremacy, The New Kingdom proves to be one of the best saga reboots in the series, and as expected, there was no better director than Wes Ball.
“Of course, the wizards at Weta played a big part in all of this, but there’s no doubt that Ball’s personal mastery of visual effects contributed greatly to this film’s incredible aesthetic.”

“The New Kingdom pays homage to the Apes saga! It’s a sprawling adventure with brilliant special effects and performances. There’s a lot to talk about, the film is thematically vague. I also don’t like the ending, but that’s a minor complaint otherwise. An enjoyable and interesting film.”Germaine Lussier of Gizmodo points out.
#Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Proud Monkey Saga. A sprawling adventure with great effects and performances.
It has a lot to say that leaves it thematically vague—I also don’t *love* the ending—but that’s a minor complaint for an otherwise enjoyable, engaging film. pic.twitter.com/0aqH2x8K6v

Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom is a pleasant surprise. An anti-Manichean blockbuster that deftly deals with issues of heritage and religion surrounding the messianic figure of Caesar, confronts the audience with the importance of a duty to remember. pic.twitter.com/OVH2NrlYa2

We saw Planet of the Apes The New Kingdom. A visual slapstick with a terribly relevant message. Even better in Dolby Cinema. @DisneyFR#Planet of the Apes @DolbyFrance@DolbyCinema pic.twitter.com/SSECGfNZLn
