The My Little Reindeer phenomenon continues on Netflix. In this series, creator and actor Richard Gad tells his own story about the harassment he experienced several years after meeting a customer at the bar where he worked. Both exciting and terrifying, this unexpected success left all subscribers speechless.
During the story, the level (Richard Gadd) finds comfort in his love story with Terri (Nava Mau), a trans woman — who is physically threatened by stalker Martha (Jessica Gunning) a few episodes later.
Unfortunately, this idyll does not end as one might wish. At the end of the series, Don and Terry break up. The latter later finds a new companion. However, the actor reveals GQ that a scene that gave some hope of their relationship continuing was deleted from the final cut.
Happy ending for Terry
“There was an extra part in the script about Terry and Don’s relationship, and we shot ithe explains. Five months later, Terry leaves a voicemail on his answering machine. So I guess for me I can go on because Terry did it too. It is comforting to know that they have found peace in their relationship.“
He continues: “Terry has a happy ending. She found a new man, she didn’t lose her friends, she didn’t lose her job, she didn’t lose her smile. It works well, and I think that’s great because we’ve often seen stories of trans characters who end up being broken..”
