A 64-year-old former civil police officer was arrested this Wednesday, 8th, for killing a man during a traffic collision in 2000. The arrest took place in Fortaleza, Ceará. The information was confirmed by the Federal Police when Earth.
The arrest warrant was issued by the 4th jury court of the district of Fortaleza and he was arrested by the Integrated Force for the Fight against Organized Crime of Ceará (Ficco), with the support of the Comptroller’s Department of Internal Affairs (DAI) General of the Discipline of Public Security Bodies and the Penitentiary System (CGD).
According to TV Verdes Mares, the murder occurred on March 26, 2000, near the Castelão Arena. At that moment the victim’s car and that of the former civil police officer collided. The two then argued and during the fight the ex-officer, who was a police investigator, killed the other motorist.
He was convicted of qualified homicide and in 2023 the Comptroller General of Discipline of Public Security Organizations and the Penitentiary System (CGD) fired him for the crime.
