The Windows 11 screenshot tool will read the QR code

Microsoft has started testing the ability to read QR codes and use 3D emojis in the Screenshot tool

Windows 11’s Snipping Tool should soon receive an update that makes it easier to use QR codes and even adds 3D emojis to prints. Testers in the Windows Insider program (Canary and Dev channels) can now try the new features of version 11.2404.35.0 of the application, but it is not yet scheduled for release to the general public.

QR code and emoji in the screenshot

According to the publication in blog In Windows, Snipping Tool gained the ability to detect QR codes in screenshots so “you can easily follow the link on your PC.” All you have to do is use a few text actions in the app to start identifying the code.

Furthermore, the Redmond company has started testing the function of using 3D emojis from the Shapes tab of the app. Simply select the reaction you want and it will appear on the screen, then you can control its size and position in the image.

The new features should increase the usefulness of the tool and allow for a greater level of customization.

Paint also receives new features

A Microsoft confirmed that, together with the Capture Tool update, the good old Paint also gains something new, but in practice little changes. Now the “Cocreator” option will have the name changed to “Image Creator”, however, this is the only change, as the feature will continue to offer image creation with the help of artificial intelligence.

By the way, check out some important tips for using Paint and shows that the app still has firewood (or paint to use).
