Available on Prime Video, Maxton Hall: The World Between Us is the latest hit series for young adults. This German fiction in six episodes, already number one in France on Prime Video, is part of a popular genre – adapted literary romances that combine drama and sensuality – with the success of franchises such as After, Against the Sense or À my window .
Genre fans are in for a treat with Maxton Hall, as this German novel tells the complicated love story of Ruby Bell and James Beaufort, two characters who have everything for the new popular romantic heroes.
What is the “Maxton Hall” series?
Created by Daphne Ferraro, Maxton Hall: The World Apart takes us to Maxton Hall, a prestigious private high school where Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) thrives.
This scholarship student doesn’t care about money, parties or power because his only goal is to get into Oxford University. But when she accidentally discovers a secret that could tarnish the Beaufort family’s reputation, the young woman finds her life turned upside down.
That’s when arrogant millionaire heir James Beaufort (Damian Hardung, seen in the Netflix series How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)), popular, arrogant and rich, decides to do everything he can to silence Ruby. Their exchange of passionate words suddenly ignites a spark.
Will there be a second season of “Maxton Hall”?
You should know that the TV series Maxton Hall: The World That Between Us is an adaptation of Mona Kasten’s literary series of the same name, which was hugely successful in Germany. This saga consists of 3 novels “Rescue”, “Rescue” and “Rescue”.
The first season of Maxton Hall will rewrite the events of the first novel, Saving Me, which means there are two books left to adapt and therefore material for other seasons. Especially since the first season of Maxton Hall ends on a major cliffhanger and we don’t know if the relationship between Ruby and James will survive the last shocking revelation of the last episode.
Fans definitely want a sequel – which, of course, there is! – but we have to wait for the green light from Prime Video. Given the success of the novels and the popularity of the series on the platform, it wouldn’t be surprising if Maxton Hall was handed a season 2.
