Actor Taron Egerton, who played Elton John in the movie “Rocketman,” has revealed that he is in talks with Kevin Feige and other Marvel Studios executives to play the role of Wolverine in the new X-Men movies.
He confirmed the deals in an interview with the New York Times, admitting he is interested, but knowing it will be difficult to replace Hugh Jackman as the mutant hero.
“I don’t think it would be wrong to say this: I would be excited but also apprehensive because Hugh is so associated with the role that I wonder if it would be too difficult for someone else to do it. But I hope if he does, they will give me a chance.
Egerton previously starred alongside Jackman in the 2016 comedy “Flying High”.
The British actor’s next releases are two Apple TV + productions: the crime series “Black Bird”, which debuts Friday (7/8), and the backstage film “Tetris”, scheduled for the end of the year.
