‘Brigerton’: The character who could have a tragic end in Season 3, according to the books

“Bridgerton” Season 3 is just days away from its Netflix release (premiering May 16), and fans can’t wait to find out what happens in the new installment.

At the moment, there are very few details about it, such as that the love story will revolve around Penelope and Colin, ‘Polin’ for fans, eventually going from friends to lovers (which breaks with the timeline of of books by Julia Quinn).

One of the great unknowns that those who read the saga “Seducing Mr. Bridgerton’ is: what will happen in the Netflix series with Marina Thompson, with whom Colin was in love in the past?

In “Brigerton 3,” this character could die, according to the books

The early seasons of the Netflix series showed Colin’s attraction to her, just like in the books. They were even engaged in the first season, but ended their relationship when Marina’s pregnancy was revealed. She, for her part, chooses to marry someone else.

In the second season, her role is smaller, but just as relevant to Colin’s story: on his return from a long trip, he visits her in her new home, where he meets her husband and children. Although she still kept his love alive, she asks him to forget her and find someone he truly loves.

In Julia Quinn’s fifth book, To Sir Phillip, with Love, it is mentioned that Marina Thompson is so unhappy with her life that she kills herself. This event not only deeply affects Colin, but affects the entire society.

Since Netflix has made several changes to the books that “Brigerton” is based on, it’s not certain how it will handle this part of its story.

While Netflix hasn’t given any sign of what might happen to Marina Thompson’s character, just look at the list of actors who will make up the third season to create some suspicion.

According to what has been officially announced, the cast does not include Ruby Barker, the actress who played the Featheringtons’ cousin. This could signal the end of his appearances in the series.

However, at the moment there are only assumptions about how her absence will be justified: will it be that Marina takes her life, but does not appear on the scene, or will they give her a less tragic conclusion, such as moving to another place?
