Megalopolis, Francis Ford Coppola’s new film, gets an epic trailer

New product, produced over forty years, will premiere at this year’s Cannes Festival, but there is still no date for its official release.

On the first day of the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, where it will make its debut, Megalopolisnew film by Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather), got an epic trailer, which shows what appears to be a New York destroyed and then rebuilt, with a new futuristic style. Check out:

Produced for forty years, Megalopolis was written and directed by Coppolaand tells the story of an architect, played by Driverwho wants to rebuild New York City in a utopian way, after a devastating disaster.

The idea for the film emerged in the 1980s, but Coppolla was unable to obtain financing to produce the film at the time. So that he could get it off the ground, the filmmaker even sold some of his properties and finally got around $100 million to make it.

In addition to Driver, Megalopolis still has Giancarlo Esposito (Kaleidoscope) Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus), Nathalie Emmanuel (Fast & Furious 10), Dustin Hoffman (Rain Man), Shia Labeouf (The Peanut Butter Falcon), Jason Schwartzman (Asteroid City),Laurence fishburne (John Wick 4: Baba Yaga), Jon Voight (Ray Donovan) It is Forest Whitaker (The White House butler).

Despite premiering at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the film does not yet have a date for its official release in theaters.
