Kitty Man will return in 2025! Sony has just announced a reboot date for the iconic slasher, Remember… this past summer.
The feature film will be released in US theaters on July 18, 2025 (probably on the 16th in France), 27 years after the Jim Gilleps film directed by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr.
Two stars of the saga are returning to the cast!
Director Jennifer Caitlin Robinson is working on Netflix’s If You Jealous Me…, a feature film that will see the return of two of the saga’s stars: Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The two actors had previously played roles in Remembering… Last Summer 2 in 1999. Note that the third film – a kind of remake of the AlloCiné audience rated 1.1 – without the cast of the previous parts, was released in 2006.

The first attempt at a remake was made in 2021, the series Remembrance aired on Prime Video last summer, but the latter was canceled after one season.
We still don’t know anything about the plot of the reboot, but Sony wants to take a cue from what Paramount did with the return of Scream: bring back the original cast with new characters to freshen up the franchise.
The first installment grossed $125 million internationally and launched the film careers of four actors. The action of the film takes place on the evening of July 4. 4 friends accidentally hit a stranger and decide to make the body disappear. The following summer, they encounter terrible events and realize that someone knows what they did last summer.
