First Holi for Berry! It is set in a horror movie in September 2024

Two years on from Roland Emmerich’s disaster film Moonfall, Halle Berry – in a rarer on-screen appearance – is back in theaters in Alexander Aya’s new horror film.

Mother Earth tells the story of a mother (Berry) and her fraternal twins (Anthony B. Jenkins and Percy Daggs) who over the years have protected themselves from an evil spirit through the protective bond of their family. However, when one of the boys begins to question the existence of evil, the bond is severed, leading to a terrifying fight for survival.

The first images released today are reminiscent of John Krasinski’s concept films without sound or even Bird Box, in which Sandra Bullock and her children must remain blindfolded, except that here the characters must always be connected to the house.

Homeland It also marks the return of Alexandre Aya (High Tension, Eyes on the Hill) to cinema in 2021 following Oxygène’s direct-to-Netflix release. The French filmmaker’s latest feature film to hit theaters is the horror thriller Crawl in July 2019.

Homeland

The first pure horror film for Halle Berry

While Aja is no stranger to horror, Halle Berry has never acted in a pure horror film. So far, the 57-year-old actor has starred in suspense thrillers: Gothika, Dark Suspicions, Dark Tide and The Call.

At Lionsgate’s CinemaCon conference in April, the 2002 Oscar winner for Shadow of Hate said she accepted the role of Mother Earth because she is “adrenaline junkie” and that movie “It gave him the opportunity to be a part of a world he had never seen before.”.

Homeland It will be released in our cinemas on September 25. Before that, Halle Berry will star in the action film The Union on Netflix from August 26.
