Jodie Comer, who became famous for her role as a professional assassin in the TV series Killing Eve, has been invited to play the lead role in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. In addition, Richard Madden (Rob Stark in Game of Thrones and star of The Bodyguard) was considered for the role in the film.

Immortal Joe, the big bad from Mad Max Fury Road, is introduced in this prequel in a younger version. In 2015, it was Hugh Case-Byrne who gave him his features. The actor died in 2020 at the age of 73. Lachie Hulme replaces him in the fifth Mad Max.
