In fact, this reserve of the element that powers the Jedi’s lightsabers was the real reason Vader planned to invade Exegol—after all, it is a spectacular power source.

Anakin stole the cargo that was used to power the planet-destroying ships seen in The Rise of Skywalker. With the material in hand, the Imperial Schism, a group of Imperials interested in the downfall of Darth Sidious, was able to use it to complete a powerful weapon. Therefore, the Dark Lord’s arsenal has reached a level capable of matching his master’s abilities.
