Thalita Simplicio and Jerusa Geber reached the podium in the 200 meters T11, in a race that saw the world record broken. The Brazilians took silver and bronze respectively at the Para Athletics World Cup held in Kobe, Japan. Gold went to China’s Lui Cuiqing, with a time of 24.36.
This is the second medal won by the Brazilians in the competition. Thalita had won gold in the 400 meters T11, while Jerusa had won the 100 meters T11 event.

Lorraine Aguiar is bronze
Shortly after the yellow-green double it was Lorraine Aguiar’s turn to win a medal. She took bronze in the 200 meters, with a time of 24.40. She had already won two silvers, in the 100 and 400 meters T12, for the blind.
This morning’s race was won by the Indian Simran, with a time of 24.95, a personal best. Silver went to Darlenys De la Cruz of the Dominican Republic.
