The most recent of these is “Who Killed Him?”, a Prime Video series that, through fictional stories, tries to solve the question of who was behind the murder.
The first episode of the production features the version of Jorge Gil, played by Diego Boneta, which has brought attention back to his name.
Who was Jorge Gil?
Jorge Gil was a journalist specializing in entertainment and one of Paco Stanley’s closest collaborators during the TV program “Una Tras Otra”. The communicator not only participated in Stanley’s sketches, but also had an investigative segment to entertain the audience.
In the Prime Video series, it appears that on the morning before the fatal attack, he had suggested another investigative unit, specializing in exorcisms in Mexico.
In real life, his partner Paco Stanley started his media career as a radio host, but eventually came to television. Before ‘Una after Otra’, he worked with Stanley on the program ‘Llévatelo’.
What happened to Jorge Gil?
After the tragic event and all the investigations conducted on the possible suspects by the then Public Ministry of the Federal District (now Mexico City), Jorge Gil decided to write a book chronicling his testimony. In “My Truth: June 7, 1999”, the journalist tells how he lived that day in El Charco de Las Ranas and asserts that he never trusted the alibi that Mario Bezares gave to the authorities, even going so far as to accuse him. involvement in crime.
In “Who Killed Him?” The reservations that Gil seemed to have about Bezares are depicted, although in the series he seems to be motivated by revenge and job competition.
After the publication of his book, Gil withdrew from the limelight and cameras, as well as from public life.
