There were no upsets and, in a packed Maracanã, Flamengo beat Millonarios 3-0 this Tuesday 28th, in the last round of Group E of the Libertadores. Far superior to a struggling rival who failed too much in defense, Rubro-Negro scored three goals in the first half, with Pedro (two) and Vargas, against. In the final phase he had some chances to increase, but he managed to exploit the advantage. This was Flamengo’s 100th victory in the Libertadores. And Gabigol, on the bench, did not enter.
Flamengo ends the group stage in 2nd place in G, with ten points. We are therefore waiting for the draw to find out who will face the first place in the round of 16. The leader was Bolívar, who finished with 13 points. Palestine came third. They will thus go to the repechage of the round of 16 of the South American Championship. However, Millonarios, last with three points, are out of continental competition this season.
Millonarios falters and Flamengo scores the goal
The match had just started and Millonarios, with five defenders and two defensive midfielders, gave Flamengo the breakthrough after six minutes.
