Are you ready to return to the Pacific Islands for a great trip? Eight years after Vaiana, Legend of the End of the World, nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Song at the Oscars, the daring heroine returns with a new adventure, the trailer of which has just been released.
Moana, the demigod Maui, Pua the pig, Hei Hei the rooster, and Kakamora are back and take us to the Pacific Islands with an incredible new crew of sailors. In this second installment, Moana takes a long journey to reunite people scattered across the ocean after receiving an unexpected call from her ancestors. The crew will have to travel to the dangerous waters that are located at the edge of the ocean seas.
The feature film announced by Disney last February is actually an evolution of the Disney+ series project. The studio eventually decided to adapt the story into a feature film for the cinema to the delight of fans.
Directed by David G. Starring Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller, Wayana 2 sees Auli Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson return to their original voices, while Ceryse Calixte voices the adventurer in French.
Vaiana 2’s original soundtrack will be written and composed by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foay, founder and leader of the band Te Vaka, are already working on the first opus. In 2022, Abigail Barlow and Emily Beare won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for “The Unofficial Bridgerton MusicalBased on the hit Netflix series. Emily Berry was also the pianist on Beyoncé’s tour.Renaissance World Tour.
Moana 2 You can see it in our theaters from November 27. Note that a live-action remake of the first film is also in the works with Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson. The live-action film will hit theaters on July 8, 2026.
